Amanda and John’s Wedding at Kingston Bagpuize House
Kingston Bagpuize House featured in Bridgerton Season 3, Downtown Abbey and Emma
Amanda and John’s wedding was a beautiful celebration of love, family, and vibrant colours. Set just 20 minutes outside of Oxford, the stunning Kingston Bagpuize House, a location featured in the third season of Bridgerton, was the perfect backdrop for this unforgettable day. Kingston Bagpuize House has a rich history of appearing on screen, according to the property’s website. It has featured in films such as Emma (2020), where some of its rooms were used to portray a school. The house has also made appearances in Downton Abbey, with the entrance hall and drawing room serving as the home of Lord Merton (played by Douglas Reith) in the fifth and sixth seasons, which aired in 2014 and 2015.
Although the venue itself offers the option for both indoor and outdoor weddings, Amanda and John chose to take a more personal route for their ceremony by getting married at the nearby St. Mary the Virgin Church in Buckland. This church had a special meaning to John, as it was where he grew up and where his family had celebrated many important occasions over the years. The couple’s connection to the church made it the ideal place for their vows, surrounded by the love of their family and friends.
A Colourful Wedding: Amanda and John’s Special Request for Guests
From the very start, Amanda and John had one special request for their guests: “Dress colourful.” This simple but impactful theme added an extra level of excitement to the wedding day, as guests showed up in their brightest and most joyful outfits. The atmosphere was electric, with splashes of colour everywhere and a true sense of celebration in the air. Amanda and John’s infectious excitement set the tone for the entire day, and it was clear that their wedding was going to be full of emotion and fun.
After the ceremony, guests made their way to Kingston Bagpuize House, where the celebration continued in style. The venue, with its rich history and elegant grounds, provided the perfect space for the vibrant, joyous reception. The décor reflected the couple’s love for colour, with a beautiful mix of hues that complemented the setting. The energy was contagious, with everyone enjoying the relaxed vibe and the stunning surroundings and the weather in August was equally warm and beautiful.
The Reception at Kingston Bagpuize House: A Stunning Celebration
One of the highlights of the day was the emotional speeches, especially John’s heartfelt words. It was clear from the start that this was a day meant to be cherished forever. And the joy didn’t stop there—Amanda couldn’t wait to see the photos from the day. She sent me this sweet text as soon as she received the previews:
“Ahhhh! We just got the previews and they are gorgeous!!! We are loving them!!! 😍 almost cried at the pool when I got the message through 😂 Thank you so much for capturing our special day and dressing to the theme. Love, Mr and Mrs Criscuolo Church.”
It was an honour to capture such a special day and to be a part of the vibrant love that Amanda and John share. Their wedding was a perfect reflection of who they are: full of joy, warmth, and love for one another.
